CAROL BESKE
DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT
Carol Beske founded ACT Engineers over 27 years ago.  After transitioning away from ownership/management, Carol remains with ACT Engineers, Inc. and serves as the Director of Public Involvement.  For over 30 years, Carol’s knowledge, energy and commitment have earned her a stellar reputation within the realm of Public Outreach.

 

Carol has been responsible for the successful completion of numerous multi-million dollar projects in context sensitive/public outreach. Her clients include the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, New Jersey Transit, New Jersey Turnpike Authority, New Jersey Water Supply Authority, Delaware River and Bay Authority as well as local governments.

 

Carol is active in many land use and transportation organizations and served for several years as Chair of a state wide land planning/use organization. She works closely with numerous local, county and state agencies on critical land use issues, and serves, or has served, on many state, county and local boards and organizations.  As a testament to her work, Carol has been the recipient of many awards, including Outstanding Women in Government Award from the NJ League of Municipalities, Good Guy Award from the Boy Scouts of America, Seven Seals Award from NJ ESGR, Life Time Achievement Award from the US Department of Defense, and US President’s Volunteer Award.

 

Carol holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Minnesota, as well as professional credentials in Municipal Land Use and Principles of Planning from Rutgers University, Context Sensitive Design and Dispute Resolution.

 

When asked to describe her life outside of the office, Carol describes her love of nature and adventure, which include hiking the Black Hills of South Dakota, trekking the Andes Mountains of Peru to Machu Picchu, rafting the Grand Canyon and flying around the Mt. Everest in the Himalayan mountains.
