Brick Hydrographic Survey
Project Description
ACT Engineers conducted bathymetric surveying for the potential development of a Township-wide dredge permit and material reuse/handling program. These areas include local channels (not under state or federal jurisdiction), marinas and private slips (collectively navigable areas). These local channels and slips include more than 100 miles of developed shoreline within Brick Township at the northern extent of Barnegat Bay. It is the intent of the survey to define the maintained waterway and develop a volume estimate of material required to be dredged for permitting by the NJDEP and USACE.
This surveying effort included coordination with state agencies to incorporate results from on-going maintenance dredging projects for hydrodynamic model development. ACT Engineers has met with city officials, residents, private marina owners, business owners, stakeholders and regulatory agencies to keep the public well informed and build partnerships that will assure the project meets broad reaching community expectations.
