New Jersey Turnpike Widening

Project Description

During the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s 6 to 9 Widening Program, ACT Engineers coordinated meetings with public officials, stakeholders and the community prior to and during the Widening Program. ACT also set up and provided community outreach through the Widening website and a toll-free information phone line. The phone hot line was monitored for incoming stakeholder calls, and ACT provided timely call backs. The website was amended and updated as needed with traffic information, timely input of progress report updates and photographs, and vital public documents.

At the peak of construction, the Widening Program was the largest ongoing roadway project in the Western Hemisphere, and during this time ACT coordinated construction project information with stakeholders and as many as five construction management firms, 17 contractors and 327 subcontractors.
