Princeton Theological Seminary
Project Description
ACT prepared a Stormwater Management Master Plan for the residential campus of the Princeton Theological Seminary in preparation for redevelopment of the 65 acre site which adjoins the Delaware and Raritan Canal. Subsequent to this preliminary work, ACT was engaged to complete the site design and engineering for the removal and replacement of the student housing. A portion of the new housing is located in a previously undeveloped area of the property in order to minimize disruption to campus housing operations. The project included the demolition of seven buildings and clearing of 20 acres to accommodate the construction of three new multi-family garden apartment buildings, a new maintenance building, active and passive recreation areas, playground, and future student recreation center, all connected by a central pedestrian spine. The design allowed construction to be phased so that existing occupied facilities on the site could remain open, powered, and accessible throughout construction. Environmentally compatible design and construction techniques allowed permitting in this ecologically sensitive woodland setting. ACT completed the site design, landscape and lighting design, permitting and construction documentation for the project, as well as site and landscape construction inspection.
