Walt Whitman Bridge PA Approach
Project Description
ACT Engineers completed a Topographic and ROW Survey for the design of highway infrastructure improvements to the corridor including the ramps and bridges encompassing 270 Acres. A GPS control primary network was established along the project corridor. Aerial control targets for a HD-Lidar flight and secondary control was established within the project limits. The Right of way was verified by location of the original monumentation. A field edit of the aerial mapping was completed including the location of readily visible utilities. Part of the field work was completed at night in support of coring and geotechnical boring operations. Panoramic photographs were obtained during the field survey for all of the 11 bridges to aid the bridge inspection and design of the rehabilitation of each structure. A survey report was completed to document the survey standard and procedures utilized on the project. A surface model was generated in AutoCAD Civil 3D and converted to Microstation. Project Base Plans were delivered in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
