West Windsor Township Former Bus Garage
Project Description
The site has been utilized as a Public Works maintenance facility in the 1950’s and then a school bus garage and maintenance facility for the West Windsor Township-Plainsboro Board of Education which may have impacted subsurface soil and groundwater quality at the site.
ACT Engineers completed a Preliminary Assessment, Site Investigation, Remedial Investigation and a Remedial Action Work Plan to investigate Potential Areas of Concern (PAOCs) on the site.
Approximately thirty (30) soil borings and seven monitoring wells were installed across the property. Soil and ground water samples were collected and screened for evidence of contamination. ACT also conducted Vapor Intrusion Sampling inside the facility.
Additionally, ACT completed a well search and Receptor Evaluation Report for the site. An underground UST was found to be leaking which resulted in Tank Abandonment oversight and LSRP coordination. The tank was abandoned in place and will be removed during building demolition.
